gaim-vv soporta videoconferencia a lo MSN desde hace bastante tiempo.

Partiendo de que el programa lo veo enfocado sobre todo a sistemas no-windows (en windows muy pocos instalan otro cliente distinto al oficial), me parece importante ver la licencia.

En el foro del programa lo han preguntado, y el autor está muy lejos de liberarlo (además de cerrar el hilo de malos modos). Ante las preguntas sobre la licencia, ha publicado un modelo:

Me lo he instalado ( 5.8 MB , vía bitorrent ) en FC2 y para empezar tiene una cosa espectacular: un instalador gráfico sencillisimo y muy intuitivo.

Respecto a la conexion, bastante rápida ( no se queda pensando como en ciertas versiones de otros clones MSN ).
Está en castellano.
Pero me ha sorprendido que NO soporta webcam ( la razon principal para instalarmelo ).
Tiene buena pinta.
Permite encripacion entre clientes Mercury ( aunque no lo he probado )
Permite RSS para subcribirse a feeds.

Bueno, probaré durante un tiempo, pero mi interés era por la webcam

Ya que sale el tema, que soluciones libres conoceis para videoconferencia?
He estado mirando por ahí, y lo único decente que he encontrado es GnomeMeeting [gnomemeeting.org].
Como usuario de KDE, pos quisiera probarlo, pero de haber otras alternativas, pos... mejor. :)

Estoy intentando usarlo con mi Quickcam Messenger y no hay manera. No detecta la cámara, y luego al abrir conversacion con alguien ve un cuadro negro un momento y luego se cierra.

La cámara funciona perfectamente con otros programas como camorama. Esto de la videoconferencia con usuarios de Window$ parece que esta gafado.
