Si tu licencias algo bajo GPL no se puede cobrar por ello.

Si Linux es GPL, lo que se haga con Linux se distribuye GPL y no puedes convertirlo en propietrio y cobrar por su propiedad, solo por su distribucion.
Pero mucha gente sigue sin entender las diferencias.... la licencia GPL de linux por ejemplo no permite "hacer lo que se quiera" con el, esta restringido, lo que te permite es usarlo sin pagar.
Mucho taliban del free software que no se estudia las cosas y se las inventa. ;) (sin acritud que no quiero -1)
