No es por meterme en discusiones linguisticas, pero cuando dije que desde las mismas fuentes se quita credito al experimento, no es porque tecnicamente no sea viable. Y eso que ellos muestran sus dudas y no se porque, ya que el quitar un gen se lleva haciendo desde hace mucho con los ratones knock-out:

"It's a very challenging project. We'll have to develop not just cloning techniques in cats, but all of the related technologies," Yang says

Pero con lo que se quitan credito es diciendo

"One potential problem is if it turns out the protein has a function that affects the health of the cats. "We don't really know. We'll just have to do it and see what happens," Yang says.

Traduciendo: No tienen ni pajolera idea de lo que sucederá, y asi desde luego que pocas empresas van a arriesgar capital (consideraciones éticas aparte).
