Por Kottke me he enterado de que Microsoft ha retirado su paquete de fuentes gratuito (que no libre) Microsoft Core Fonts, origen del paquete debian msttcorefonts. Es una lástima, la New Times, la Verdana y la Georgia eran algunos de los tipos mejor pensados para su uso en pantalla de ordenador. Bueno, lo siguen siendo, pero ya no están disponibles. ¿Tienes algún tipo de letra favorito? ¿Es libre? Actualización (14.8.2000, 17:45 horas) Parece que los términos de redistribución permiten mantener el paquete msttcorefonts en non-free de Debian. Más información en el "Lee más". Candyman.

Alguien en la lista debian-devel ha hecho notar que los términos de redistribución permiten hacer un paquete non-free y meter los tipos para su descarga en los mirrors de debian.
